Course Overview

This 6 hour Outdoor First Aid course is designed for people who spend time in environments where help from professional rescue may be delayed.

Training is delivered in outdoor settings and focuses on practical casualty care, decision-making under pressure, and adapting treatment with limited resources.

Suitable for adventurous individuals who want confidence beyond standard first aid training.

This course combines a practical first aid course with exploring the Chiltern Hills. Coombe Hill is one of the highest viewpoints in the Chilterns (852 feet). The trail directly overlooks Chequers, the official country residence of the UK Prime Minister.

You’ll train through realistic scenarios covering:

  • Management of bleeding, sprains, strains and common injuries.
  • Recognition and treatment of hypothermia, heat illness, and common medical conditions
  • CPR and AED use in outdoor and remote contexts
  • Incident management, casualty care, and evacuation planning

Starting & finishing at Wendover Railway Station. Less than 55 minutes from London Marylebone with Chiltern Railway.

The walk can be strenuous in places, we cover approximately 8 miles.

If you are coming by car there is a National Trust carpark at Coombe Hill. You would need to advise us if not coming by train. Nearest toilets are in Wendover.

There are several pubs in the area, if you wished to make an evening of it. The Shoulder of Mutton, next to the station is convenient at the end of the day.

Your course fee includes:

  • Course manual
  • Access to the Invenio community
  • Post-incident support
  • 40% discount off of Montane
