This intensive two-day (plus online module) course goes beyond standard Outdoor First Aid, focusing on prolonged casualty care, complex trauma, and decision-making when evacuation is delayed. Training is highly practical and scenario-based, reflecting the realities of working beyond immediate help where conditions, terrain, and limited resources all affect outcomes.

Aligned with the expectations of UK outdoor governing bodies, this course is ideal for professionals responsible for others and who need first aid skills that stand up under real pressure.

Aston Rowant National Nature Reserve, located just off the M40 in the Chilterns, is famous for its towering anthills. Many of these mounds are over a hundred years old and are home to thousands of yellow meadow ants that help sculpt the unique chalk grassland.

Scenario-driven, hands-on training including:

Advanced airway and breathing management in remote settings
Complex trauma care: major bleeding, fractures, spinal injuries
Prolonged casualty care: monitoring, documentation, and reassessment
Environmental emergencies: hypothermia, heat illness, altitude, drowning
