Free Taster Day

Description

Although today is a taster day, we are following the one day syllabus.

You will cover primary and secondary care and how to adapt to the outdoor environment where the emergency services may be harder to access.

Example of content:
Vital signs – breathing, level of consciousness, temperature, colour
Incident management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents. ABC
Airway Management – causes and treatment of unconscious collapse. Safe Airway Positions
Breathing Problems - choking
Circulation Problems – Internal bleeding, external bleeding and treatment for shock
Damage – suspected fractures, head, neck and back injuries
Environmental Considerations – hypothermia, hyperthermia and cold injuries
Casualty Monitoring and prolonged casualty care
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - Adult and Drowning protocols are covered
Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED
