Over 2 days, you will cover a lot of ground. Both through the syllabus and utilising our amazing outside areas.
Example of content:
Vital signs – breathing, level of consciousness, temperature, colour
Incident management – a systematic approach to managing first aid incidents. ABC
Airway Management – causes and treatment of unconscious collapse. Safe Airway Positions
Circulation Problems – Internal bleeding, external bleeding and treatment for shock
Damage – suspected fractures, head, neck and back injuries plus helmet removal.
Environmental Considerations – hypothermia, hyperthermia and cold injuries
Casualty Monitoring and prolonged casualty care
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) - Adult and Drowning protocols are covered
Safe Use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED)
As with all our courses you are invited to join our community and take advantage of free workshops to practice and develop your skills.
This training can also be certificated for Forest School practitioners.
Successful learners can progress to Wilderness First Responder.
