Outdoor First Aid At Work for Remote Teams
Your workplace isn’t always a workplace.
Environmental teams, archaeologists, ecologists, surveyors and other field-based professionals may spend much of their working day outdoors, away from vehicles, buildings and immediate access to emergency services.
Traditional workplace first aid training may provide the certification your organisation needs — but the environment your team actually works in can present very different challenges.
Our approach combines practical Outdoor First Aid training with the option to add Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) or First Aid at Work (FAW) certification with or without +F, depending on the findings of your organisation’s first aid needs assessment. Depending on certification choice there is a £10.00 cost for additional certification.
Training That Reflects Where You Actually Work
Outdoor First Aid considers the additional problems that come with working away from immediate help, including:
managing a casualty for longer
environmental exposure and hypothermia
difficult or remote locations
communication with emergency services
evacuation considerations
injuries and illness occurring away from normal workplace facilities
Training is practical and scenario-based, helping your team develop the confidence to manage an incident in the environment where they actually work.
Rather than sending staff on separate workplace and outdoor first aid courses, we can help you choose a training and certification combination appropriate to your organisation.
The result is training designed around the realities of your team's work — not simply the four walls of a conventional workplace.
This approach can be particularly relevant for:
environmental and ecological consultancies
archaeology and fieldwork teams
conservation organisations
forestry and land-management teams
surveyors and field engineers
other organisations whose staff regularly work outdoors or in remote locations
