Having just completed the Outdoor Pursuits 16 Hour First Aid L3 with Bruce at Invenio Training, I can vouch whole heartedly for this being an outstanding and invaluable program- The importance of "realistic" role play in an outdoor environment (fantastic location at that) can't be understated, with Bruce building out a community/supportive environment during the course (and post course support). Everything rooted in thought provoking realism (including social dynamics)- driven of course by Bruce's real world experience. 3 days after the course I was at a cycling event where there was a polytrauma including suspected collapsed lung- I had the confidence to take the lead and act as first aider- familiarity with assessment, process , decision making and using the First aid apparatus available. You never know when its going to get real - Thanks Bruce for opening my eyes and being a great mentor to us all.
