Emergencies do not always happen when a designated first aider is nearby. A child may collapse in a classroom, choke at lunch, suffer anaphylaxis on the playground or need help during a school trip.
From September 2026, Benedict's Law requires schools to ensure all staff receive allergy awareness training, refreshed annually. First aid education is also part of statutory Health Education for pupils in England.
The direction is clear: life-saving knowledge should not sit with a small number of designated people.
But capability is not built through one training session.

Many schools initially contact us for Outdoor First Aid training for DofE, trips and residentials.
We can also support wider school first aid requirements, allowing you to centralise training with one provider.
Depending on your requirements, paediatric first aid can be embedded within outdoor or workplace first aid training for the cost of an additional certificate.

1) Supporting Allergy Awareness and Whole-School Preparedness
Asthma and allergy awareness are included in our first aid courses at no additional cost.
An optional three-year certificate is available for £10 + VAT per person.
We can offer this course as a standalone session for a group of 12 for £233.33 plus VAT.
Additional staff can be included at £10 + VAT per person.
Our Whole-School Capability approach can also help schools provide wider practical training and repeated exposure to essential emergency skills, supporting their preparedness for changing expectations around allergy awareness and anaphylaxis.
The principle is simple:
An emergency should not depend on the right person happening to be nearby.
2) Practical Training. Minimal Disruption.
We will work with you to minimise disruption to the school day.
Training can be planned well in advance, giving schools time to arrange cover and coordinate staff attendance.
Where appropriate, blended learning can reduce face-to-face training time by allowing staff to complete part of their learning online.

3) Optional Annual Capability Day
From just £10.41 per person for practical annual refresher training. Less than the cost of many online-only refresher courses.
Our optional Annual Capability Day gives schools a practical way to extend first aid awareness beyond designated first aiders.
One training day can include four practical 75-minute sessions.
Up to 48 staff or pupils can take part during the day, based on 12 participants per session.
Or up to 60 when combined with your complimentary post-course session. See section 4.
The day is tailored to your school's needs.

40 pupils and 8 staff
a mixture of teaching, support, operational and pastoral teams

4.) Complimentary Training After Your Course
When you book on-site group training, we can provide a complimentary 75-minute session after the main course for additional staff or pupils.
Combined with an Annual Capability Day, this can allow up to 60 people to receive practical training. Less than £9 per person to build life-saving capability.
5) First Aid Training for Pupils
First aid education forms part of statutory Health Education in England. But the value of teaching first aid goes far beyond meeting a curriculum requirement.
The skills pupils learn at school may one day be needed somewhere else — at home, on the sports field, in the street or out with friends.
They may be the person who calls for help when a grandparent falls ill, starts CPR on a member of the public, helps a friend who is badly injured or recognises that something is seriously wrong.
Learning first aid gives pupils more than practical skills. It encourages responsibility, confidence and the willingness to help others when they are vulnerable or in need.
It is a practical way for young people to take an active role in their families and wider communities — demonstrating maturity, compassion and good citizenship.
The life they save may not be at school.
6) Supporting Mental Health in Adventurous Settings
An incident rarely affects only one person.
There is the casualty.
There may also be friends, other pupils, staff, the trip leader and family members.
Psychological First Aid is included throughout our first aid training, helping staff consider the whole person rather than only the physical injury.

First Aid for Trips, Residentials and DofE
When pupils leave the classroom for a trip, residential or expedition, the environment changes.
Access to medical help may be delayed. Staff may be working in unfamiliar surroundings. The capability of third-party providers can vary.
Schools may use external providers to deliver activities, but school staff still retain oversight of the visit.
Staff need the confidence and capability to:
recognise when something is wrong
provide effective first aid
make sound decisions
manage incidents calmly
work effectively with external providers and emergency services
demonstrate reasonable and defensible actions when things do not go to plan
