First Aid Training for Equestrian Environments

Falls. Kicks. Crush injuries.
When something goes wrong, your response matters.

We deliver Equestrian First Aid training for instructors, yard staff, organisations and riders working in dynamic, often unpredictable environments.

Our training includes psychological first aid — not all injuries are visible.

Practical. Scenario-led. Professionally relevant.

Basic Equestrian First Aid Level 3 (1 Day)

This one-day course is designed for riders, yard staff and equestrians who want practical, confidence-building first aid skills for everyday yard and riding environments, not just a generic Energency First Aid At Work certificate.

Suitable for businesses requiring first aid provision.

We include first aid for children to support youth groups and businesses working with young riders. Optional online Safeguarding training for youth organisations.

Ideal for:
Riders & horse owners
Livery yard staff
Riding Schools
Pony Club volunteers & parents

First Aid At Work + Equine (2 Days, + online module)

For BHS instructors and those working in higher-risk or more remote environments.

Meets British Horse Society (BHS) requirements for riding instructors.

Develops:
Management of serious trauma
Structured casualty assessment and monitoring
Decision-making in complex incidents
Care in rural or delayed-response environments
Clear, defensible escalation and handover decisions

This is not simply a longer first aid course.
It is designed for those who may be first on scene and responsible for immediate care for adults and children where risks are higher and help may not be immediate.

Also available as a one day requalification course for those holding a current FAAW certificate.

Training Location

We work in partnership with The Horse Trust, recognised as the worlds oldest equine charity, based in Speen near Princes Risborough.

Their site offers a unique blend of modern training facilities and a live equestrian environment, including stables, barns, a ménage and extensive grounds. This allows us to run realistic, scenario-based training that reflects real incidents — not classroom theory.
