Advanced & Pre-Hospital Training
Real incidents rarely happen in ideal conditions.
Our Advanced & Pre-Hospital courses are designed for remote workers and organisations who require additional skills.
We don't train ambulance clinicians.
We train ordinary people to do extraordinary things — providing practical skills, sound decision-making and confidence when it matters most.
Our courses are scenario-based, evidence-informed and grounded in real-world experience.
Whether you're managing a work colleague, responding to a major incident or administering oxygen whilst awaiting an ambulance, we prepare you to be the first link in the chain of survival.
Oxygen Provider
Supplemental oxygen can be a valuable tool when used appropriately.
This course teaches the safe administration of oxygen in first aid and pre-hospital environments, including:
• Indications and contraindications
• Oxygen delivery devices
• Cylinder safety and storage
• Monitoring and patient assessment
• Working within your scope of practice
Suitable for advanced/hazardous workplace first aiders, event staff and expedition leaders.
Oxygen & Entonox Provider
For organisations and responders who may use both oxygen and Entonox.
This course covers:
• Safe use of oxygen and Entonox
• Analgesia in pre-hospital settings
• Equipment checks and maintenance
• Patient assessment and monitoring
• Legal considerations and scope of practice
Practical, hands-on and designed around real-world scenarios.
Immediate Remote Emergency Care (IREC)
Remote incidents demand more than basic first aid.
IREC provides a structured approach to casualty assessment and management where help may be delayed.
Topics include:
• Advanced patient assessment
• Trauma management
• Environmental emergencies
• Medical emergencies
• Oxygen therapy
• Communication and evacuation planning
• Human factors and decision making
Ideal for expedition leaders, remote workers and those operating in challenging environments.
Major Incident Trauma
When multiple casualties are involved, clinical skills alone aren't enough.
This course introduces the principles of major incident response and civilian trauma care, including:
• Incident command and scene management
• Dynamic risk assessment
• Triage principles
• Catastrophic bleeding control
• Casualty prioritisation
• Communication under pressure
• Working alongside emergency services
Suitable for organisations, outdoor centres, event teams and those responsible for public safety.
Our Philosophy
At Invenio Training, we believe good pre-hospital care isn't about carrying more equipment.
It's about:
• Staying calm under pressure
• Recognising what matters
• Doing the basics exceptionally well
• Working within your level of competence
• Buying time until definitive care arrives
Because sometimes the difference between a good outcome and a bad one is simply having someone there who knows what to do.

“Having just completed the Outdoor Pursuits 16 Hour First Aid L3 with Bruce at Invenio Training, I can vouch whole heartily for this being an outstanding and invaluable program- The importance of "realistic" role play in an outdoor environment (fantastic location at that) can't be understated, with Bruce building out a community/supportive environment during the course (and post course support). Everything rooted in thought provoking realism (including social dynamics)- driven of course by Bruce's real world experience. 3 days after the course I was at a cycling event where there was a polytrauma including suspected collapsed lung- I had the confidence to take the lead and act as first aider- familiarity with assessment, process , decision making and using the First aid apparatus available. You never know when its going to get real - Thanks Bruce for opening my eyes and being a great mentor to us all.”.
